sometimes ii question whether i’m really a girl or not.

ii was thinking about treating myself for finishing classes and for getting through orientation and training for work and these are the rewards ii came up with:

Actually, the photographs are spaced ten years apart, not sixteen.

(late night conversations always seem to have some sort of revelation involved)

you know that friend. that friend that always has shit to say about all your other friends. and they make you feel special because- hey, they must think you’re better than these other people that he/she’s talking about, right? that’s why they’re saying all this stuff to you, right? wrong.

it’s one of those truths that people don’t want to admit. we try to come up with reasons as to why that person exempts us from all their trash talking. but there really isn’t one. trash talkers are trash talkers. it’s guaranteed that they’re talking shit about you behind your back.

and of course- they’ll never say anything directly to that person. that’s what makes them trash talkers. they’re saying things in a mean hurtful way with no good intentions behind it. (for the record there is a difference between people that are honest and people that talk shit. honest people typically say things in the hope that that person will realize those issues and work on it to better themselves)

anyways- the point is. ii realized that ii had someone like that in my life and it was way past time to cut them loose. no more making excuses and defending them. they’re poisonous. why keep someone around when they’re just digging around for more crap to report to other people?

i’m officially hired as a part-time interventionist for the easter seals! YAY!

they’re a non-profit organization dedicated to helping disabled people establish themselves in the community. i’m specifically going to be working with young kids with ASD to try to help them develop more normally and lessen their symptoms!

i’m really excited for this. even if it’s just part-time ii have opportunities to take on more hours and eventually apply to become full-time. they’re also a relatively new office in OC so there’s probably a good chance of going above that as well. but beyond being employed- this is something that ii think ii can be really good at and something that ii really want to do. it’s really exciting to be given an opportunity to contribute to something that you care about.

my friend actually introduced me to the job opening but ii really wasn’t sure if i’d be able to fit the position well with my experiences. still, ii figured ii should take this opportunity so ii updated my resume, sent it in and they immediately called back to set up an interview. even then- wasn’t so sure. but after meeting the people involved and seeing their dedication and sincerity ii really wanted to join them and contribute to their work. ii was really impressed by their commitment and how it showed so openly even during interviews. askldjf;dsjla;
